Recently, a landmark study on Alzheimer’s disease, led by Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in collaboration with top institutions including Yale School of Medicine, has been officially published. This study systematically revealed for the first time that the GBF1 protein is closely associated with amyloid pathology in Alzheimer’s disease, confirming that GBF1 regulates Aβ production by modulating APP maturation and trafficking, thus serving as a highly promising therapeutic target. During the experiments, the research team used the e-BLOT Touch Imager to capture high-quality Western Blot band images of GBF1, APP, Aβ, and reference proteins. Featuring contact-based lensless imaging for zero-loss signal capture and an ultra large sensing chip that accurately displays both strong and weak protein signals, e BLOT delivered high quality image data supporting the precise quantification of protein expression levels.
Supported by reliable experimental data, the team clearly elucidated the molecular mechanism by which GBF1 regulates APP metabolism and Aβ generation, providing a new direction for studying Alzheimer’s pathogenesis and drug development. This application by world leading research teams further validates e-BLOT’s robust capabilities in basic life science research.
